I recently had an oven meltdown…seeing as almost every minute of my spare time involves in me being elbow deep in butter, flour and any other ingredient that will result in something sweet then it really wasn’t good. Slight understatement, after almost a week I was going out of my mind and driving hubby nuts!
Sure I had posts to publish…but I couldn’t bake!
Hence why I’ve been a little sulky quiet and where these cute spoons materialised from.

No baking required but still a sweet satisfaction.
I saw these originally quite some time ago,and if you take a look at Sweetapolita you’ll see exactly why they caught my eye. I think Rosie is incredibly talented and she gives me no end of inspiration.
Although these spoons are very simple to make, they’re very fun and you absolutely cant go wrong!
I wound up making more than I planned,24 in all. They didn’t take up as much chocolate as I thought they would so I just kept going. Not that anyone complained mind you.
I used 75g of melted dark chocolate and 50g of melted white chocolate.
Lots and LOTS of sprinkles of any size and shape.
Okay maybe not so many, but I have a whole collection of them and so I mixed them up and used alot.
But you could stick to just a few varieties and even make some kind of theme if you like.
All pink and sparkly for a girl maybe?
I got the spoons from Tesco, they were in packs with little disposable knifes and forks which I’m sure ill find a use for. Hmmm?!
I arranged the spoons on a baking tray, which had the perfect sized lip to rest them on to keep them steady while they set.

Or you could use a book,or a spatula, you get the idea.
Use another spoon to drip the chocolate into the pretty spoons.
Do your best not to fill them right up,because the weight of the sprinkles will push the chocolate up and you dont want them to overflow. Wait for a minute or 2 so that the chocolate has firmed ever so slightly and then sprinkle until your heart is content.
Leave them aside to set, they don’t take long at all.
Then you can let the kids dive in!
Sweetapolita has more tips and advice on making these. I cant praise that lady enough.
