Wow...its busy around here lately!
I know I said in my last post that I'd try to be here a bit more often but as usual its been hectic!
Not that I'm complaining....nooo,but with running a house full of teenagers,2 facebook pages, baking and printing orders I don't get as much time for blogging as I once did.
But I've made time to share with you the most recent cake I made, although its a simple 1 I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Although I've been designing and printing edible images for a little while now, this is the first time
that I've used the butterflies on a cake.
I LOVE them and I'm itching to do it on a grander scale.
The actual cake is 3 layers of vanilla sponge filled with a chocolate ganache.
I'm using ganache for almost every cake now and my edges are getting just a little bit sharper each time,
I find it so much better than butterceam.
This is the butterflies a little closer up.
This is how they look when I print them.
(I only used the blue on this cake)
I was a little worried that the unbearable heat would affect them, but they were really fine apart from I had to support the wings a little as they were adhering to the cake.
I've seen beautiful cakes with butterflies all over, maybe I'm brave enough to have a go!
